Getting started #

Setup any Raspberry Pi model with readsb ADS-B decoder and, optional, MLAT-Client.
What you'll need:

Step 1 (Download DietPi-Readsb Image): #

For experienced users who want to skip this guide and dig straight in.
Here are the first time login credentials:
username = root
password = dietpi

Second non-root user credentials:
username = dietpi
password = dietpi

Step 5: Select Software to Install: #

Now you can install the software you require, or follow one of the setup guides for popular/combo programs.

Minimal image

If you want a minimal image, simply select Go >> Start install from the menu. This will complete the 1st run setup of DietPi. Additional software can always be installed at a later date by shell command sudo dietpi-software.

Step 6: Installation of readsb ADS-B decoder and MLAT-Client #

At the end of DiePi software install the readsb install script will run automatically and guides you through the installation process.

This installer will provide the following options:

All installation is done through Debian packages, hence can be removed easily with apt/apt-get.
Sources, cloned from corresponding git repositories, remain on disk and can be updated at any time. Packages can be rebuild from these sources then.
